Brunch and Workshop

Our brunch and workshop last Saturday was a success. We started with introductions and brunch. The female guests of candidates went in one room to ask questions and learn more about the pageant. The candidates practices mock interviews, discussed clothing options, and had more opportunities to learn about one another.

2011 County Fair Queen and the 2010 County Fair Princess were also in attendance to offer more advice!

Getting to know each other

17 candidates in our queen contest and many of them had the chance to get to know one another this evening. Candidates played an ice breaker where they learned who likes to read, who plays sports, and even who's had a broken bone. Then the girls enjoyed. creating their own sundaes. Following the yummy frozen treats they were quizzed on how well they know the pageant. Questions were answered and reminders of upcoming dates were shared. See pictures below!

Next up: Brunch and Workshop on Saturday May 19, 2012 at Mohawk United Methodist Church. Please arrive with one female guest by 10 a.m.

Ice Cream Social

Our ice cream social will be Tuesday, May 8th at Ninestar North campus. Please check your emails for more information.

Apps due!

Applications for the 2012 Hancock County Fair Queen Contest are due Tuesday, May 1st by 4 pm at the Extension Office!

Please make sure your applications are complete with signatures!

2012 Application Workshop a Success!

Last night was a HUGE success for the annual Hancock County 4-H Fair Queen's Application Workshop.  The workshop was held at our sponsor's, Ninestar, north office.  We had many beautiful young ladies in attendance with their adult guests eager to learn all the tricks of the trade when filling out an application. 

Our 2011 Hancock County 4-H Fair Queen, Jordan Kuhn, was also in attendance.

Thank you to everyone that attended.  Next up is that APPLICATIONS ARE DUE on May 1st by 4 p.m. at the Extension Office. 

UPDATE on scheduled events....

The brunch and workshop on May 19 is at 10 am.  The location is undetermined at this point in time.

Tuesday, April 3rd - Application workshop and information meeting  
     Ninestar North from 6-7 pm

 Tuesday, May 1st- Applications due no later than 4 pm at the Extension Office

 Tuesday, May 8th- Queen Candidate Ice Cream Social
      Ninestar North from 6-7 pm, Candidates only

Saturday, May 19th - Queen Brunch and Workshop
      Ninestar South from 10-12 is the brunch with female adult guest and from 12-2 is the workshop for candidates only

Tuesday, June 12th - Queen Judging
      Brandywine Community Church, doors open at 9 am and judging begins at 10 am

Friday, June 22nd - Queen Pageant Practice
      3 pm at the 4-H Bowl

Saturday, June 23rd - Queen Pageant
     7 pm at the 4-H Bowl

Sunday, June 24th - 4-H Parade
     Line up at 1 pm and parade begins at 2 pm
