A look inside judging...

25 contestants and 3 judges met yesterday for the Hancock County 4-H Fair Queen Pageant.  Judging began at 9 am and ended around 1:30.  Throughout the day girls were interviewed for at least 3 minutes and judged on their modeling skills in both the business wear and formal wear.  The stress was over at the end of the day with a quick photo session outside thanks to Dawn Wallace with The Photography Barn!

Judging Day TOMORROW!

The day has arrived....

Judging day is tomorrow!  Doors will open at Brandywine Community Church at 8:30 a.m.  Please be there no later than 8:40 a.m.

Interviews will begin promptly at 9 a.m.

Don't forget to bring payment for the photos provided by Dawn Wallace at The Photography Barn.

Also, there is some road construction around the church so please allow yourselves some extra time to get there.

Workshop and Dinner tomorrow night!

To contestants: 

Join us tomorrow evening at NineStar south on 40 for a full evening of preparing for the pageant and hanging with friends.  

5-7 p.m. Contestants only for workshop. This includes practice with interview, makeup, and modeling

7-9 p.m. Dinner with one adult female guest

Ice Cream Social Tomorrow Night!

Tomorrow night is our first big event for the 2013 Pageant season....the Ice Cream Social!

Where: Ninestar North
When: 6:00 p.m.
What: Ice cream sundaes and a great time with fellow contestants.  We have 25 fabulous in the pageant this year.  This is your chance to meet all of them!

Application Workshop Tomorrow Night!

Reminder!!!

Tomorrow evening we have our first meeting regarding the 2013 Hancock County 4-H Fair Queen Pageant.  The application workshop will be held at Ninestar North on 600N from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Please attend to find out more about the proper way to fill out the application.  You will have the chance to see examples of good and bad applications and we will also discuss future dates leading up to the pageant.

Important Dates to Remember:

May 1st - Applications are due by 4:00 p.m.

May 7th - Ice Cream Social at Ninestar North from 6-7 pm (candidates only)

May 22nd - Workshop and Dinner from 5-7 pm (candidates only) and 7-9 pm (candidates and guest)

June 11th - Judging Day at Brandywine Community Church

June 21st - Practice for Pageant at 3 pm at 4-H bowl

June 22nd - Pageant at the 4-H bowl (weather permitting) at 7 pm

June 23rd - Parade meet at the North Lot at fairgrounds at 1 pm (must wear a LONG formal gown)

2013 Pageant Dates


*All Queen Candidates need to be present at all Pageant events.  If there should be a conflict with any of these dates, please contact a committee member as soon as possible.  Thank you!

Wednesday, April 3 -  5:30 pm

PROSPECTIVE QUEEN CANDIDATE MEETING/APPLICATION WORKSHOP This meeting is designed to give you an idea of what being a 4-H Queen Candidate is all about.   It is highly suggested to come and get help on how to properly fill out your application.


Wednesday, May 1  - 4:00pm

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION to be delivered to the 4-H Extension Office by 4:00pm.  No Exceptions! Please no handwritten applications.  Make your first impression a good one!

Tuesday, May 7  - 6:00-7:00pm

Queen Candidate Ice Cream Social- This is a fun evening to get to know one another better.  The rest of the events will be more comfortable after  meeting new friends

 

Wednesday, May 22– 5:00-7:00pm

PRESENTATION WORKSHOP   This workshop is for candidates only.  Dress casually and please bring makeup, suits, dresses, jewelry, or shoes for help and opinions. 
Instructional gathering for Queen Candidates and one female adult guest.  Food will be served with other royalty guests.

 

Wednesday, May 22  -  7:00-9:00 pm            *PLEASE NOTE- The Queen Dinner will take place immediately after the presentation workshop.  Your female guest should arrive shortly before 7:00 p.m. for dinner.    Instructional gathering for Queen Candidates and ONE female adult guest.  Food will be served with other royalty guests. 


Tuesday, June 11 -  9:00-2:00 pm???

4-H QUEEN JUDGING held at BRANDYWINE Community Church, Greenfield.  The judging day is closed to the public.  Candidates only.  

Friday, June 21  -  3:00pm

REHEARSAL in 4-H Bowl at Fairgrounds.  All Queen Candidates need to be present.  If times interfere with other 4-H activities, please talk to the Queen Committee as soon as possible.

Saturday, June 22  -  7:00pm

4-H QUEEN PAGEANT in 4-H Bowl at Fairgrounds for public crowning of 4-H Queen and Court.  Please be dressed and at the stage 30 minutes before designated time.  

Sunday, June 23  -  1:30pm-2:00pm

4-H FAIR PARADE – All Queen Candidates are required to ride on the Queen Float. ABSOLUTELY NO SHORT DRESSES OR HIGH SLITS!  Candidates will meet at Fairgrounds North Parking Lot no later than 1:30.  We are at the very beginning of the parade line-up.  Everyone please bring a towel and umbrella. 
* A schedule of activities for the Queen and her Court, to be used at the County Fair 4-H events, will be furnished by the 4-H Queen Committee.  The Hancock County Queen will enter the Indiana State Fair Queen Contest in August, if she complies with the State Fair rules and regulations.
